Can't create story issue, component required (in project without components)

Dear Jira experts,

I cannot create a new JIRA ticket of type Story in the project. I'm getting an error "Component/s is required.", but there is no Component field.
I don't have any JIRA Component defined in the project.

Welcome to the community.

You have to look at the field configuration scheme associated to your project if you want to make this field optionnal.

Please tell me if I'm doing it correctly.

Field Configuration Schemes -> Configure:
Configure Field Configuration Scheme -> My Project (field configuration):
Component/s -> Screens:
Name of my screen used for creating issues -> check box

And it will allow me to set components as optional?

Hi,

Go to your project settings>fields > click on the pencil on the right of your screen then look for the component field make your change.
