Thankfully I am able to start and complete the sprints for this team with my Admin permissions, but I'm stumped as to why two of my managers can't see the Sprint Start button. One of them can see Sprint Complete but hasn't been able to start sprints.
This started about two months ago.
Project details:
Both users:
I even created a new "Sprint Manager" project role with permissions to manage sprints and schedule issues and added them to that explicitly.
The one who is project lead can see complete but not start.
What else can I check?
Is there an easy way to compare all permissions between two groups or two users?
With the help of Jira Support (thank you!), we were able to identify that the sprints weren't being "created from" the board we thought they were.
So all the checking we were doing against "the board" was the right idea but wasn't valid because it wasn't actually the board that the sprint cared about.
This board-to-sprint connection is currently only available through the REST endpoint.
To see the workaround and/or upvote the feature request to display this key piece of information on the frontend, see https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSWCLOUD-13265
Hi @Casey Gould
Can you please confirm how many projects are returned for the board?
Be aware that you will need to have Schedule issues and Manage Sprints permissions to all the projects returned in the board filter and in the Sprint.
Best regards
Sam

Hi @Samuel Gatica _ServiceRocket_ - That's one of the first things we checked, since it's gotten us on other boards, but no, the filter is set to the one project and only the one project is listed there under filter details, as expected.

Are you running parallel sprints?

Hi @Casey Gould unfortunately there's no built-in way to do a side-by-side comparison of permissions....but it sounds like you've checked the typical causes for people not being able to start sprints.
I'm going to add a few more ideas you can try, sorry it's not a clear precise answer but as I'm sure you realize sometimes it could be one of ten different things causing the issue!
Hope one of those solves this for you?

Thanks for the ideas, I figured it wasn't going to be an easy answer.
Any specific permissions on 3? For the board or issue or something else?

Hi @Casey Gould , no problem. For point three I was referring to the board.
Another potential cause is that you are trying to run parallel sprints (trying to start one sprint while another is in progress) and don't have parallel sprints enabled?
If that's the case here's how to enable parallel sprints:

No on that too - only the one sprint with items from this project.
