Currently my backlog hold all kind of tickets. I want to divide the tickets  in 2 different backlogs like XYZ requirements in one backlog and ABC requirements in other back log or all stories in one backlog and all bugs in 2nd backlog.

Please let me know if Jira has this feasibility.

Thanks

Hi @Lavanya_Komala

There's a few different options. Which one works best will depend on how your teams work (eg. is all work done together? Or are Bugs/Stories done by different teams? Etc).

---

In Jira Server/DC, and Cloud Company-managed Projects, you could do various things:

  1. Create two separate Boards, and use the Board Filters to limit what is on each board. But do note you might end up limiting the view of Issues across both the Backlog and Board, depending on the Issue Filter.
  2. You could also keep all the Issues on one Board, then use Quick Filters to filter the view of the Issues - for example, just show Bugs, just show Stories, etc.
  3. On Scrum Boards, you could create Sprints and use them as "additional Backlogs" - I wouldn't suggest this is good practice though.

---

If you're using a Cloud Team-managed Project though, you can't have multiple Boards. So this would leave you with:

  1. Custom Filters, which are similar to Quick Filters in Company-managed Projects.
  2. Use the Scrum Board + Multiple Sprints method I mentioned in (3) above.

---

Let us know if any of these work for you!

Hi @Lavanya_Komala

You would like to have two backlogs within the same board, right? That's not possible in Jira, but you can maybe try using Quick Filters instead to filter for specific issue types.

Since quick filters can also be combined, you can then also use combinations with other quick filters in the backlog and on the board.

Does that already help you? Have a great day!

Best, Max
