It is a very common scenario for a free app to become a paid app after it has obtained enough reviews and installations. The best option is to choose an app that stores worklogs in Jira itself rather than in proprietary storage. This approach will help you migrate to another app if the payment model of your current app changes. For example, we use Jira’s own worklog API in WorklogPRO. Maintaining a marketplace app is a really difficult task, and vendors need to pay for CPU and storage. I don’t expect a vendor to keep an app free forever unless they benefit from it in another way.
