I know Premium offers help in resource and capacity planning.  I am seeing many plug-ins in marketplace with nice offerings.  Before my organization commits to Premium, I want to understand what the capacity planning visualizations and reporting looks like.  Can anyone point me to what comes standard in Premium?  We are going to be doing a lot of cross-team planning and views so really trying to wrap my head and share with others as to what this can look like.

Hello @Sarah Presnak,

In short, Advanced planning included in Premium allows tracking team’s capacity within a timeline, work at different levels starting with initiatives through epics, stories, etc. There are many ways to use the sandbox environment to design different project scenarios (e.g., the best- or worst-case scenario), and experiment with different time frames, team size, and resources. Also, Premium comes with an option of tracking the progress via different reports and views.

If you need more flexibility and visualization options, ActivityTimeline plugin offers more detailed view on the usage of resources - you'll be able to assign particular tasks to certain team members according to their working hours and competencies. Its Team Calendar view allows to see when a particular person is available or has a booking. You'll always see if there's any overbooking or schedule interference.

Also, there’s no timesheets in Premium. ActivityTimeline enables you to record hours worked, create timesheets, record billable and non-billable time, so it can be helpful in time based planning. Knowing the team capacity and actual work time logged, you'll be able to generate a variety of reports on resource utilization and forecast accurately allocate time for tasks by looking how much time similar tasks took in the past.

You can try ActivityTimeline for 30 days - just book a demo or reach out our support team for any questions you may have.

Hope this helps!
