Can I view past audit log events when I upgrade from free cloud plan?

I understand that free cloud plan does not have access to audit log of events. If I decide to upgrade my free cloud plan at a later date, can I view audit log of events before the date I upgrade?

What is the default retention span of Jira audit logs?

Hi @nested loops and welcome to the community,

Default retention is 6 months, but here https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-68267 you can vote and watch the issue to increase the period.

Now, I honestly have no idea if going into a paid plan will allow you to view the events that took place on the free plan. My guess would be, yes, but only for the last 6 months.
