Can I get the ticket number created when call Jira Issue collector?

Hi all, currently we use Jira collector so our users can create a new ticket when the have any issue in our website. 

Does anybody know if the Jira collector returns the ticket number after creating it so we can show the user his ticket number?

Hi @Adrian Ovares -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

I believe the created issue's key is only available from the collector when the project access is Public, and there is a suggestion to improve that behavior: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-74067

There are a couple of workarounds noted for that suggestion, and another one could be:

  • capture the requestor's email address with the collection prompts
  • use an automation rule to respond to them with the issue key and other information

Hi @Bill Sheboy, thanks for your answer, I don't know if I explain well. when I call the Jira issue collector, after the Jira creates the ticket, that process return something to the caller?

No problem as you explained what you needed quite well.

The challenge is what I described earlier: unless the project permissions make it Public, this is not possible.  Please see this post with a similar response from an Atlassian support engineer:
