Can I add data to the Backlog view?

Before starting any Sprints, the backlog seems to only allow me to see Issue titles and the epic they are associated with.  In order to effectively plan, I need a bit more information on this view...i.e. priority, story point estimation, assignee.  I can't seem to get at that without going back into individual issues.  This view should be as modifiable as Filters in my opinion.

Cards can be configured to show up to three extra fields.

don't seem to have access to Board Settings or Card layout from the Backlog.  I did a general term search on both and can't get to it that way either.  Do I have to have started a Sprint in order to get there?  If so, I'll ask our admin.
