Hello - I am new to Jira and the community and tried searching for help on this but may not have all the correct terms for my search so apologies if this is discussed elsewhere.

I have been successful getting our Jira CSV import to work for creating the epics/stories/tasks, but for updating existing tasks, I do not see the 'Issue Key' field to map my incoming reference to an existing issue data to.

From web searches I also see references to administrative rights required to do that.

If I am able to import my CSV should I be able to see the 'Issue Key' receiving field?  Or even with my apparent success do I not actually have administrative rights?

Hi @ronp

Normal users (i.e non-Site Admin) can only import issues into Jira - not update.

Only Site Admins who have access to the more powerful import settings in Systems can both import and update via CSV.

More information on user uploads can be found here: https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirasoftwareserver/creating-issues-using-the-csv-importer-939938927.html?_ga=2.200582446.1808623565.1567686354-427489631.1547440999

@ronp Welcome, welcome! I'm going to move this question to the Jira collection, so you can better insights from folks there. 😄
