Basic Timeline: How can I show status?

I am looking for some any ideas people have about being able to show status in the Basic Timeline view. I use the timeline view to update project teams on our deliverables for a project. It is decent at showing start/end times on a gantt with dependency lines and ownership.

What I do not have a way to do is mark individual tasks within the epic/timeline as being delayed or having a risk etc.  Ideally there would be a status field we could show or a way to individually color code a task within the Epic. I don't see these on any current development roadmap at Atlassian though.

I understand some of this functionality is available with Advanced Roadmaps.. however that would require us upgrading the entire 1000 person company to Premium just for my purposes.

Has anyone found any creative ways to get around this limitation? My current workaround is I screenshot the timeline and overlay icons and manually color a task bar to illustrate project issues. It's getting ugly though.

Thanks!

Hi Jeremy - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

Unfortunately with the base one project Timeline, you are not able to make those modifications or show those details. You would need the Plans through Jira Premium for that.
