Hi everyone,
I have an issue concerning Backlog items that appear in my bord view.
I have a board with a few swimming lanes and would only want to see items that are checkt with our Definition of Ready to be in the board view. If it isn't checked with our DoR the issue should remain in the backlog only. How can I exclude backlog items to be in my bord (with swimming lanes) but still are visual in the backlog?
If I exclude the status Backlog from my board view and create a new backlog item the error I get is:
Changes saved, but Issue not visible
For an issue to be visible, it must match your project and filters, and have a status that’s assigned to the board.
Hello @Hanno-Wybren Mook
Welcome to the Atlassian community.
What type of project are you using? Get that information from the Type column on the View All Projects page under the Projects menu.
With a Company Managed Software project the presence of an issue in the Board view vs. the Backlog list is based on the issue Status.
With a Team Managed project the design is different. With a Kanban board for a Team Managed project you can enable a Backlog view. On the Backlog view you will see the issues in two lists on that page with the lower list labeled "Backlog" and the upper list labeled "Board". These labels do NOT correlate to actual issue status values.
The presence of an issue in the Board view is based on it being in the "Board" list vs. the "Backlog" list on the Backlog page. It is not based on the Status. If you have issues that you don't want displayed on the Board view then you will need to ensure that those issues are in the "Backlog" list on the Backlog screen.
There is no automatic movement of issues between the "Board" list and the "Backlog" list. That is managed manually.
If you are using a Team Managed project and you don't want to use the Backlog view, then you would need to add a Custom Filter to the board to hide the issues that are in the Status you don't want to see.
Hi @Trudy Claspill ,
It is a Team-managed Software project. Do you have an example of such a custom filter?
