BARCODE scanning implementation in JIRA board to track units

We want to build  Kanban style board in JIRA with swim lanes representing different lanes as different test station where the operator will scan the unit and work station that will automatically pop up on JIRA dashboard (integrate with the Kanban board) providing status and location of the unit which right now we lack(traceability). Is it possible?

You could create your own application that integrates with Jira through the Jira APIs.  This would allow you to do some of the processes that you are talking about but not all.  You might have to change it so that the product is transitioned to the station you are scanning it at and that the issue pops up and the user at the station completes their task and make note of it in Jira.  Having it pop up on the Kanban could be a possibility but it would also have all of the other issues on the board which could be confusing.
