Automation - Rules are running as my user, how to change

Jason Oosterveld January 10, 2019

When an automation rule is triggered, my user is the one that runs it.  I would like to create a generic user for running these rules as the latter confuses my end-users.

I thought this would be straightforward, but it is not.

Jason,

You can change that.

Service Desk Project->Project Settings->Automation. Then edit Change Default Event user.

that only allows me to change from "Project default" to "user who triggered the rule" I can't choose a generic account like "Automation"

By default, whoever created the project "runs the rules". However, you can change that.

See topic, Rule Options.
