I have automation rules in place to set issue security level when a components field is set to a specific component. In the rare event that an issues component would later be removed, is there an automation I can set to remove security level. I have tried to do "edit issue" action to set the field Security Level to "none" or remove security level but this is not an option.
Thanks!
Hi @Christine Byrer following configuratino works for me:
You need to set correct permission (Set Issue Security) in your Permission scheme for user Automation for Jira
Let me know, if you need more help :)
Hi Martin: I do have Set Issue Security permission in this projects permission scheme. I was using the configuration you pasted a screenshot of but if you click the drop down menu on Security Level you will see only Security Levels that have been created. I was hoping to see "None" or "remove security level". The same "none" that is available on issue creation in the Set Security Level field for users that have set issue security level or the same "remove security level" that is available when clicking on padlock icon in the issue.

Hi @Christine Byrer , just leave the Security level field without configuration (add it but do not pick any option)...it is that simple 🙂

Ha! That did work, thank you. Not the most intuitive solution to me, but definitely works. Thank you. = ))

Have you tried creating a new security level that is opened to everyone and when the rule is triggeted set it to the open security level?
At least you will be able to select something.
Cheers.

Well that would almost be too easy!! I like it.

I am finding that I cannot publish the automation rule where I am trying to leave the Set Security Level action empty.
It seems like its currently mandatory to select a Security Level scheme and an existing Security Level ... will not let you leave these settings blank.

Same problem here. I guess I'll have to make a "public"-security level and change it to that. But I don't find this a clean choice as the manual option will be:
1. "[Security level name]"
2. "Public"
3. "Remove security level"
of which the later 2 do the same thing...
