Automation Issue connecting to Github

Daniel Nagornov January 25, 2025

I'm trying to use the template

When issue is moved to In progress → Create a branch in GitHub

But when I make a connection to GitHub and save the rule it prints:
"

This rule uses a connection that may have been deleted. Please reload and try again.

"

Also, when I try again and click "change connection" I don't see any connections at all although I added one.

Can someone help please ?
Thank you !

Hi @Daniel Nagornov -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

This appears to be an intermittent defect, as described in the report below, and which is closed as "won't fix".  The suggested workaround is to have your Jira Site Admin create the rule from the global rule area in Jira.

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/AUTO-643

Kind regards,
Bill

There is no option to create a branch in GitHub in the global rule area, at least to my knowledge. Is it possible ?

The workaround is to create the Jira Automation rule from its global rule management area, not from GitHub.

This worked, thank you !
