Hi all, I have searched relentlessly to find this answer, but is alluding me.
I was to automate a reoccurring task but also to clone a previous ticket.
I have the scheduling part down pat, but can't put together the sequence to clone the ticket. I'm not a developer in any sense of the word, so the smart values make no sense to me!
All I want to do is:
Clone this ticket, schedule to run quarterly.
(the reason I want to clone rather than create from scratch is that the original ticket contains screen shots and links)

Thanks John, the solution appears to be in your answer, but I still can't get it to work
"While you could also achieve that using a Scheduled trigger and a Clone Issue action, you would need to create a rule foe each issue for which you wish to clone."
Do you have an example of how to do that? The field I want cloned are Summary, Description, Done Definition, Labels, Department and Parent.

I still can't get it to work. It comes up with an incompatible error message that no matter what I change, won't rectify.

@Steve Gardner
In the scheduled selection, enter the issue # you want to clone and tick the Run JQL search

@Erin Gaunt that helped alot... seems i was missing the check box (run JQL search ) in the scheduled tasks.. so now my stories/tasks related to that search are being cloned.. just need to modify the cloning process to 1) clone the subtasks as well, 2) create new epic to assign them to based on the schedule job time.

Glad I could help Steve. I did post another question with regards to automating the creation of initiatives and then step down until I for to stories. So far I've been able to create the initiative and feature, but can't get to the epic and story level.
Don't know if this one will help you
