does anyone have a way to automate the creation of a jira ticket from a slack message and only a slack message? no typing, no buttons.
i had an idea if a message came through in slack from a customer regarding certain keywords that the bot could pick up (Ex: problem with ____ email) and make their message a ticket with predefined parameters (Ex: medium priority, assign to automatic, etc). does anyone have any resources i could look at to get this accomplished?
thank you :)
Hi Allison,
I just released an app to do exactly that. It's called Skipper AI, it converts your Slack conversations to fully fleshed out Jira tickets.
How it's used:
What it does:
We've been using it in our team at work. It's like having a Jira assistant, cuts down a lot of time for us.
In my org IM team wanted this solutions to avoid regular monitoring of alerts channel and Jira ticket creation.
I am currently working on this automation project. Hopefully, by 20th Oct this will be completed. But please suggest if anyone gets any alternatives.

Hi, my org is also looking for a tool to create a ticket in JIRA from a slack message automatically. Without having to type or push a button. We would like key words to kick the auto ticket creation process.
Any good apps/tools that can do this? Willing to also pay if it's fits our needs.

Hi Ivan, did you ever find a solution to this?

Hi @Mallory Rudolph - I did not. I believe there are some integrations that you can purchase like clearfeed. My org is using the free JIRA action to create tickets from Slack to JIRA. However, this needs someone to manually tigger it.

Hi @Ivan_He , I have built and deployed automation for Architecture alerts and automatically creates Jira ticket by checking the priority, avoid duplication and redirect to different team according to alertname. Along with it regular followup by adding leaderships in hierarchy every day.

@Ivan_He Check out my answer above. I just released a Slack bot, Skipper AI, to do exactly what you're asking. Automates many aspects of ticket creation from simple messages.
Let me know if you have any questions!

Hi Allison!
My team's just released an app called Workflow Steps for Jira, that lets you create Jira tickets from Slack with an emoji reaction on a Slack message:
It requires a tiny bit of setup in Slack's Workflow Builder but then it's very straightforward and convenient, we've got good feedback so far :)
Let me know if this can help?

thanks so much for the information!! i've looked at all of those and unfortunately they don't really match what i was looking for. i was looking to see if the jira bot for slack has a capability to recognize keywords and create a ticket from those, like slackbot can do.
