Automatically number acceptance criteria

Is there a way to make the acceptance criteria displayed in a numbered format instead of as bullets?

I think this would be helpful  to be able to refer to the AC number when providing feedback on a story.

Adding a number (or using '#') manually does not work--it gets ignored when the AC is displayed in the story.

Thanks.

Hi @Svend White ,

It looks like you're using Checklist for Jira, our app.

It would help to know which version you are using but if using number disappears, I think that you might be using an older version (4.x) instead of a newer one (5.x).

In any case, if the number disappears, it's because in version 4 we ignore the markdown syntax for numeral bullets. So instead of using syntax such as "1." or "1)", use a character that will not be interpreted as markdown.

So, while we do not support auto-numbering of the items, you can still manually add numbers in front as long as it does not conflict with a markdown syntax.

Cheers,

Thank you, Yves. That is helpful.

I suppose auto-numbering could cause referential problems as items get added and removed, so perhaps that's for the best.

BTW, I love the "Convert unchecked items to issues" feature!

Hi @Svend White ,

Yes, it would indeed be a little bit complex to keep up with.

If you love the convert functionality, you will then fall head over heels in love with the new version coming out in 5.2. You will be able to:

  • Open the Create Dialog for each item to convert, thus preventing the mandatory field failure.
  • Chose between all, unchecked and checked items
  • Send all unchecked items in one single issue.

Hi, @Svend White !

What is "acceptance criteria" in your case?

Can you show any screenshots of your current realisation?

Hi @Alexander Bondarev

I'm referring to this section of the story.

I'd ideally like them to be numbered for easier reference.

Thanks.

@Svend White , it looks like external app's feature.

Do you remember it's name? Something with "checklist" , "checkbox", etc.

Oh, okay. I assumed this was there by default. I will have to check with our JIRA admin, I guess. Thanks.
