Assignee of Sub-task is not receiving Notification email when made Assignee

The Assignee of a Sub-task is not receiving a Notification email when she is made the Assignee. This is in a Company Managed project, in Jira Cloud.

The Sub-task is being created and assigned in a "Create Issue" post-function by an add-on user (Jira Misc Workflow Extensions).

The parent ticket and the Sub-task are in the same Jira project, but have different workflows. However, both workflows seem to have the necessary post-functions: The parent workflow is firing a Generic Event event that can be processed by the listeners, and the Sub-task workflow is firing a Issue Created event that can be processed by the listeners.
The user is included in the Project Permission Scheme.

Project settings for Notifications on Issue Created include Current Assignee.

As we know, Jira Notification Helper doesn't work on Sub-tasks: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-33332.

Would much appreciate any advice!

Hi @Denise Prickett - I would check the following:

  • Am I correct that this is for a single user?  If so, they may have updated their personal preferences and unchecked "You're the assignee for the issue"
  • If it's pervasive, I would also check the notification scheme to ensure the current assignee is all set for Issue Assigned.  In most cases, the assignment happens after issue creation so you'll need this notification as well.

Thanks for your reply, @Mark Segall.

  • Yes, this is for one user. We've checked her personal preferences, and "You're the assignee for the issue" is checked:image (51).png
  • Here's the Notification Scheme for the project. Is there something obvious I'm missing? image-52.png

Maybe she has some kind of rule on her email account?

Thanks again @Mark Segall. We'll dive into that next. She hasn't worked in Jira up until this point, so I doubt it, but we'll explore!

What I'm hearing here, generally, is that email notifications to the assignee should work on sub-tasks, correct?

Correct - Based upon your notification scheme, and the fact that others are getting the notifications tells me this user should receive notifications as well.
