Assign task to a user in Jira instance B from Jira instannce A using Backbone Sync

Site Clicks May 18, 2021

So I have backbone sync installed on both Jira instances.

Is it possible to assign task to a specific user in Jira Instance B from Jira Instance A?

So far I cannot see the users in Jira instance B from Jira instance A when I assign a task.

Whats the way to solve this?

Hi @Site Clicks  ,

I’m Liset, part of the Backbone Issue Sync team.

You can synchronize the assignee by mapping the assignee field. Depending on your exact use case, you have two options to solve it:

  1. Sync assignee to assignee and make use of the correlation user mapping. With that you can directly link users in Jira A to be synced to users in Jira B.
  2. Sync a select field to assignee. In the select field on Jira A you can create a list with the users from Jira B. Now, every time you want to assign someone on Jira B you can select the user in the select field on Jira A. Backbone will sync this to the assignee field in Jira B.

If you need further help feel free to reply here or reach out to us at help@k15t.com so we can in more detail have look at your use case!
