All notifications have suddenly stopped working

We on on the cloud, and using Service Desk and Projects and suddenly the notifications have stopped working.  Any ideas how we investigate this?  Or any ideas why this would suddenly happen and what to do to fix it.  This is quite urgent please.

Hello Jill, 

I am sorry you are facing this issue. If this is an urgent case, I advise you to contact the Atlassian Support (with high priority - P2 for exaxmple) for them to investigate the case with you. 

Otherwise, could you provide us the following information?

  • Do you manage notifications with the default "notifications" feature of Jira, or do you use a plugin (such as "Autowatch for Jira" or "Smart Notifications")?
  • Are your notifications still configured?
  • Is the email address usedd for notifications set properly (for example: jira@domain.atlassian.net)? 
  • In the Global Mail Settings (in the URL, replace "yourdomain" by your real domain name for your Atlassian site), can you verify if the Email processor is ON and the Database cleaner too?

  • Ensure that the Outgoing Mail (in the URL, replace "yourdomain" by your real domain name for your Atlassian site)parameter is set to Enabled.

Hi Boris, thanks for this.  It seems that this was not a Jira issue after all, and we are still unsure what caused it.  And yes I did raise it with the Support Team and they have been in touch.

Hi

Check the notification scheme, maybe someone changed it for your project or check a Global Settings

In Cloud, it’s not possible to check otherwise, if it doesn’t help, then write to the Atlassian support, they should say what's the matter

Hi Yevhen, thanks for responding.  It's all sorted now, now idea what or why, our own IT Team are looking into it.
