Adding component to existing User stories

Dibya Mohanty January 8, 2019

Hi,

We are modifying our flow in the JIRA setup. We are trying to break it down using components. I made a new component and want to move all the issues in a particular EPIC into this component. How can i bulk add component to all the stories in an EPIC. Is it possible? I cannot go into 100+ user stories and add the component manually.

Is there a short way to do it? Any help is deeply appreciated.

Hello Dibya,

Welcome to Atlassian Community!

You can achieve this functionality by using Bulk operation:

- Navigate to JIRA > Click on search > View all issues

- Type the following query:

"Epic link" = "XYZ-123"

Where "XYZ-123" is the issue key of the Epic linked to your stories

- Click on the three dots icon > Bulk Change all issues

- Select to add the component you want and finish it

Note: You must have the global permission Make bulk changes to perform this procedure.

Please, let me know if this information helps.

The bulk edit function should work.
