Hi, I have a 3 stage approach working with transitions:
1. Waiting for support --> Waiting for customer (Waiting for customer form with Comment field).
2. Waiting for customer --> Waiting for support - Work 100%
3. Waiting for customer - If comment added then Automation rule to set transition status to "Waiting for support" - Work 100%
For me it looks like automation rule trigger other rule and change status. Can you show part of history when this is happening and also your rules?
