Hi!

We have a project with a lot of sub-projects and we are using checklist for tasks to not forget some of details during closure activities. For now we are manually adding those checklist (or their templates) to each task.

Do Jira have any opportunity to make our life easier?

For example will be cool to have ability to add some of templates by tag or to add template of check list inside the epic to task/sub task.
So maybe we have such but don't know about it.

Thanks for help in advance

Hi! Have you considered using our Multiple Checklists for Jira addon? It allows you to add multiple checklists to a ticket, create templates for projects or whole Jira instance. Moreover, you can automate Checklists templates, to be added to newly created issues when they meet your JQL filter requirements. Please feel free to read our step by step guide How to automatically add checklists to your Jira issues - step by step guide.

What addon are you using for checklists? Most if not all allow you to automatically apply a checklist template based on Issuetype. Is this an option?

Looks like it's not an add-on but a native functionality
Issue type is too general.
Or do you mean issue type inside some epic/task?

Checklists are not an OOTB function. If you are the admin please click on the “Apps” menu option in menu bar and select Manage your apps. From there search for the checklist app. Once found you can access the Marketplace link where you will find documentation on the app. I happen to use Issue Checklist Pro which supports templates and the ability to set a default template to a specific issuetype, e.g. Epic, Task, etc.

@volodymyr.v

From the screenshot, it looks like you use Issue Checklist Pro or Issue Checklist Free.

Default checklist is the most common feature that could help. Please try it and let us know if it is what you are looking for.

If not, please let us more details and we will help.

Cheers,
Jack

Hi @volodymyr.v

Have a look at Smart Checklist for such purposes. It can actually cover your need. You can set a template of a checklist as default for a precise Issue Type as described here. Or you can use Jira Automation for multiple actions concerning the checklist. Several examples can be found on this page.

Feel free to download the free version here.

The Support team is ready to help you at smartchecklist@railsware.com.

Cheers!
