Hi,
I'm currently using Jira Software data center.
I would like to use story points instead of issue count for a more accurate cumulative flow diagram.
I know this feature is not available yet on native JIRA KPIs, but do you recommend any add-on that could do this ?
Thank you,
Hi @Garn,
Your best option here is our Great Gadgets app. It offers a Cumulative Flow Diagram Chart gadget that can calculate data by Story Points, exactly as you want.
See more about this gadget and the many others offered by this app in this article: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/App-Central/How-to-track-scaled-agile-SAFe-projects-in-Jira-with-Great/ba-p/1929694
Hope this helps. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us at support@stonikbyte.com.
Thank you,

Hi @Garn
What leads you to believe changing the units on a CFD will make it "more accurate"?
A CFD helps see flow measures, such as arrival rate, WIP, throughput, starvation, etc. That works because the units are the same, supporting conservation of flow: 1 on the chart equals 1 work item, and whatever enters at the start eventually leaves at the end of the process boundaries.
If different units were used (e.g., forecasted work hours for an item) the measures would quickly become broken, and the visual would sometimes indicate backward flow, or items removed in the middle of work (due to forecasted sizing differences). Or worse still, WIP would need to be increased to account for smaller-sized work items in flow.
You seem to be describing a burn-down (or burn-up) chart. Would using those help instead?
Kind regards,
Bill
