I am a Jira admin,
How do I add field
Add field "Estimated delivery date" or "Estimated resolution date in one project.
As a Jira admin, adding a new field like "Estimated Delivery Date" or "Estimated Resolution Date" to a project involves creating a custom field and configuring its context. Here are the steps:
1. **Create a Custom Field**
- Go to **Jira Administration** by clicking on the gear icon in the top-right corner.
- Under **Issues**, select **Custom Fields**.
- Click on the **Add Custom Field** button.
- Select the **Field Type** you want to create (e.g., **Date Picker** for date fields).
- Click **Next**.
2. **Configure the Field**
- Give the field a **name** (e.g., "Estimated Delivery Date" or "Estimated Resolution Date").
- Optionally, provide a **description** for the field to clarify its purpose.
- Click **Create**.
3. **Associate the Field with Screens**
- After creating the field, you need to associate it with the relevant screens.
- On the **Associate Field** page, select the screens (e.g., **Default Screen**, **Edit Screen**, **Create Screen**, etc.) where this field should appear.
- Click **Update**.
4. **Configure Field Context for the Project**
- Go to **Field Configurations** under **Issues** > **Field Configurations**.
- Find the field configuration scheme that is used by the project you want to add the field to.
- Click **Configure** on the relevant field configuration.
- If necessary, adjust the field's visibility by editing the **Field Configuration** settings.
5. **Add the Field to the Project's Screens**
- Go to **Project Settings** for the project where you want to add the field.
- Select **Screens** under the **Fields** section.
- Add the newly created field ("Estimated Delivery Date" or "Estimated Resolution Date") to the relevant screens in that project.
Let me know if you need further details on any of these steps!
