Add New sub-task

I want to add an issue type from the project settings, but I can't add a subtask type issue. i tried to add a subtask from the settings screen of jira itself with admin privileges, but no new subtasks appear.

Subtasks need a parent.

As Jira cannot create the parent when you're creating a sub-task, so you need to create the parent first, then from the parent, you create the subtask.

If your question is that you have created a new issue type and want to make it available to project.

Click on Gear Icon->Issue Type Schemes->Click on ... on the screen you want to add new issuetype->Click Edit.

You will see available Issue Types. Move them to the box "Issue Types for Current Scheme" and the issue type will be available
