Hi, how are you?
Do anyone know how to do this? We have custom fields (let's use e.g : priority) and we want that when someone creates a ticket, a label /explanatory text appears before a custom field (combo box) to explain what value should be used in what ocasion. The text should be "prerecorded" so when the ticket is created, it is already there (we thought that this could be made using the Jira toolbox (message custom field) but this one is only usefull to appear when you "edit" an issue or when you are in the viewing the issue, but not when you create the issue.
So, the idea is when an issue is created, a text should explain values to put in a custom field.
any ideas?
Thank you!
Fernando,
Do you mean like the description text in this image:

Note that the Severity Field is something specially scripted, but you can have the text in the description below the field by just having your JIRA Admin include the text in the description field when creating the custom field.
Instructions for doing so are here: http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Adding+a+Custom+Field
I just noticed that your tags are "onDemand." I don't know if the solution is the same for that environment.
