I am missing my current sprint from the backlog display. Usually the current sprint displays above the backlog list.  It is no longer there.  I also don't see the 'Active Sprint' option in the menu list and it used to be there.  I no longer have the option to create a sprint or close a sprint.  I was trying on Friday to add some columns with a status and I'm wondering if I screwed something up.  How do i get visibility of the current sprint in the backlog like it was?

Hello Stacey,

Welcome to Atlassian community!

Just to ensure we are on the same page, JIRA has two types of boards: Kanban and Scrum. Scrum is organized per Sprints and Kanban by Releases.

Per your description, it seems you are talking about a Kanban Board (where Sprints are not used) or a Next-gen board (New experience, where Sprints can be deactivated).

To better understand what happened, can you please let us know if this is a new project that you have created or if it is the same project that used to display Sprints?

If you have used this project before with a Scrum Board (Sprints), it is possible that you might have selected a different board for this same project (Kanban) in the board menu or your Sprints where deactivated (Next-gen). Perform the steps below to confirm it:

- If you are using a Kanban board, click on the board menu > Check if the board you were using previously is not added in the list.

- If you are using a Next-gen Board, navigate to your board > Project Settings > Features > Turn on the Sprint feature

Additionally, it's possible that other users delete boards in JIRA. Check with your team if it was not deleted by any reasons and check the possibility to recreate it under the board menu.

Let me know if this information helps.
