I was editing what I thought was a JIRA task but apparently I was within the Epic itself.
I changed the Epic to Task and now all the information has been lost relating to the ticket being an epic and all other JIRA tickets contained within that Epic has been decoupled.
Is there a restore option back to a point in time?

No, there's no "undo" in Jira, it just moves forward. You could refer to the last backup you took to see what was there before, but you can't restore individual issues from a backup.
