Hi,
I just wanted to know if there is a way to deactivate auto-focus-edit while clicking on an issue description.
I found this really anoying since, I'm just selecting some text, and in many cases, I don't want to edit it!
Boring sorry, I feel disapointed but really boring
Using v7.6.14

Yes. This is really annoying me, too. I wish they can change it to a personal preference. I really don't understand why such a setting should be global instead of user selected.
Hi Pierre,
Great question. If you're sure-moused and can select/drag in a single motion, the Description field won't flip to edit mode. Reproducing the behavior you mentioned though, I did find myself clicking without selecting sometimes which inadvertently triggered Edit mode.
There is a way to turn this off, but it will affect all users on your Jira Server. Here are the steps:

Me neither. I just want to make this configuration for myself, not for everyone.

Same here. Super-annoying as my finger is a little "trigger happy". No other issue tracking systems that I'm aware of do that (e.g. trac, phabricator). Seems it's only a "feature" in Jira but nowhere else.

Would be great to have it as personal setting rather than admin-level

Just like the other users here, I really don't want to turn on edit mode when I click.
I'm usually clicking so that I can set the focus to the center panel in Jira, so that Page Up, Page Down do what I expect. Or I'm trying to select something or follow a link (and miss).
I would absolutely _love_ it if there was a personal setting that would allow toggling between single and double click to edit.
