Why not considering the creation of a new issuetype Release?

Hi,

My team is developing  a test tool using agile on jira. We have our kanban board on which we follow our development progresses and we use Jira releases on our project to communicate what has been done during our sprint.

We will need to provide more visibility to our project manager about our plans and roadmap but since the release is not a "container" we can't really link it to other program Epics/Issues.

I think it would make sense to create a new issuetype but I'm open to other suggestions.

Thanks & Regards,

G
