Sub-tasks generating duplicated tickets

Hello,

I have created a new sub-task that I named "defect" in a Scrum Board. So, each time I create a sub-task (that I use to share defects with the Dev team), it generates a separate tickets, whereas I only wanted to have it attached and displayed in my original ticket. 

Could you please help me with this ?

Sub-tasks are separate issues, just they are tied back into their parent, displayed as part of it, but still individual entities in their own right.

I'm not sure what you're looking for Jira to do here?
