Resolution Screen not appearing on the default issue screen but only on bug screen

How do I get the resolution screen to appear on the default issues type screen. I have added it to the workflow on the default issue type screen (when selecting status "done") but does not appear when clicking on "done" as same rule applied to the bug issue type screen.

You don't.  A screen does not go on nother screen.

I think you might be talking about "transition screens" though.  For those, you need to change the workflow, selecting the "resolution screen" on transitions into "done"
