Jira as an internal service for multiple Business Units -Advice

Hi All,

We are wanting to deploy a single Jira (Atlassian Stack) with centrally managed team to support multiple Business Units/Organizations within our company.

Effectively we are wanting to host Jira as an internal service for internal customer.

What are best practices to keep tight control over User, groups, projects, and other authorization areas?

What are some of the shared areas that BU units will need to signed off - such as Central Administration will have access to all projects across the board, data will reside in single instance, outage/maintenance will be common etc..

Are there ways to share the love of administration with Business units etc?

Any links or best practices will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Jay

Hi Jay,

Did you ever proceed with your implementation?  Did you receive any best practice advice?  I am exploring the same thing.  Multiple BUs around the world, each with a local team.  I want to be able to share / escalate issues raised in ITSM both vertically (i.e up to another higher level support team) but also horizontally (i.e. to publish an issue across all BUs to see if someone else can help).

Thanks
Brian.
