Upcoming Improvements to Jira Velocity Report: Enhancing Reliability

Hi Jira Community,
We're excited to share some upcoming improvements to the velocity report in your Jira projects. Our team has been working diligently to enhance the report's reliability, specifically targeting the timeout issues that have been causing inconvenience for some users.

What’s changing?

As part of these improvements, we are transitioning the loading of the Company Managed Project (CMP) velocity report to an asynchronous process. This change is designed to improve the report's reliability and prevent the timeout issues that have been reported. Consequently, the "Prioritize page load time" toggle has been removed. This toggle was initially introduced to improve loading times, but its removal is part of a broader effort to simplify our backend and enhance overall stability. While this adjustment may not directly increase loading speed, it is intended to provide a more stable and consistent experience for all users.

How this change impacts you

Some users who previously relied on the "Prioritize page load time" toggle might notice a temporary drop in performance. However, this change is part of our ongoing efforts to improve the reliability of the report. If you experience any significant performance issues or have concerns, please reach out by submitting a customer support ticket. Your feedback is crucial as we continue to refine these reports to better meet your needs.

What you can do to prepare

We encourage you to monitor the performance of your velocity reports after this change is implemented. If you encounter any issues, our support team is ready to assist you. Please don't hesitate to contact us with any questions or feedback.

What's next?

We will be rolling out this update in early September, and we hope to continue to deliver improvements over the next few months. We greatly appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to improve your Jira experience. In the meantime, please let us know in the comments section if you have any questions or feedback on these updates. Thanks, everyone!

Hi @Matt Doar _Adaptavist_ - The changes currently apply to velocity reports in company-managed projects. If these changes prove to be successful, we plan to implement similar updates to the velocity reports in team-managed projects as well
