G’day Community!
This is a follow-up to the earlier post on the new project permission grant experience for Company managed projects (CMP). We have been working on improving the project admin’s experience to grant permissions to users, groups, and roles on the permission schemes page. We are iteratively making granting permissions more powerful.
We’re excited to share the updates that will be coming soon on Jira Cloud.
In March'22, we progressively rolled out the ability to grant single permission to multiple grant types in Company Managed Projects. It was a shift from the earlier experience of giving multiple permissions to a single grant type. More details on this post New project permission grant experience on Permission schemes page.
Based on your feedback on that post, we decided to iron out the issues. Admins will now be able to give multiple permissions to multiple grant types.
As an admin, you can grant multiple permissions to users, groups, and roles simultaneously. For example, you can grant Administer projects, Create issues, and Add comments permissions to Administrators role, a single user and a jira-admins group in one go.
You will start seeing the change anytime in the next two weeks, as we progressively roll it out starting 27th Jun'22.
Once you’ve had a chance to try these changes out, let us know your thoughts by commenting on this post. We look forward to it as it will help us further refine and improve permissions in Jira. Please feel free to reach out to me in case of any issues/ feedback.
Thank you!
Varad,
Jira Cloud PM
