I really like the List view, but it would be very helpful to have a much more robust list of "Group By" options.
Also, it would be nice to have the Group By choice impact the address bar, so the view could be saved as a shortcut.
Are these things on the roadmap? Or is there already a way to do that?
@Tim Leibovich Currently, we do not have that feature and hence there is a feature request raised with our Product team and the same can be tracked below. I request you to add yourself as watchers to get notified when we have new updates on the same.

welcome to the community!
Just to add to Bernice's answer, if you need an immediate solution (plus, are open to solutions from the Atlassian Marketplace), you may like JXL for Jira.
JXL is a full-fledged spreadsheet/table view that - among many other things - allows grouping your issues by practically any issue field, including optional sum-up of the issues within your groups. You can also create as many so-called sheets as you want and create shortcuts for them.
This is how it looks in action:
JXL adds itself to the project sidebar, so it could be a good addition to the native list view. It also works with any project type (i.e., Business, Software, or Service Management). More info at https://jxl.app. Disclaimer: I work on JXL :)
Hope this helps,
Hannes
