I'm currently working with a project created in Jira Software format, but it falls short compared to other Agile tools available. I've found that Jira Work Management could be the solution, but I can't create a new project from scratch. Instead, I need to transform my current project to the Jira Work Management template to access its additional features.
Is this possible, or is my only option to create a new project from scratch or switch to another tool like Notion or similar platforms?
Hello @Raquel López Moreno
Welcome to the Atlassian Community.
If you are using Jira Server/Data Center apparently you can change the project type from the Project Settings > Details screen as per this post. I don't have such a system where I can verify that.
Unfortunately in Jira Cloud it is not possible to simply change a single setting to change the project type. You do have to create a new Work Management project and then Move the issues from the Software project to the Work Management project.
If you are using Company Managed projects in Jira Cloud, then after you create your new Work Management project you can associate to it the Schemes (workflow, permissions, screens, etc.) used by your Software project. If you do that you won't have to reconstruct all those configurations for your new project.
If you are in Jira Cloud and using Team Managed projects then you will have to recreate your workflows and screens and custom fields, as Team Managed projects are designed specifically to not share configuration elements.
