I have experienced the problem that the status name aligns automatically when designing workflows for different issue types.
Issue Type 1:
- To Do
- In Progress
- Done
Issue Type 2:
- Request Backlog (To Do status)
- Analysis (In Progress Status)
- Production (in Progress Status)
- Live (Done Status)
Despite designing those different workflows for each issue type, the naming of different status stages (To Do, In Progress, Done) automatically align after saving the workflow.
In one of the cases Issue Type 1 status automatically changed to:
- Request Backlog
- Analysis
- Live
Would love to hear your solutions to the problem or useful workarounds.

Yes, all statuses fall into one of three categories - To Do, In Progress, or Done. Only those categories are allowed and each status must be associated with only one of those. So if you use the same status in another workflow, it will automatically show as that same category. If you change the category of the status, it will show for all instances of where that status is used.
