Bulk Cloning Jira Issues, but need to keep same Issue Key

Theresa Gothard

Hello!  I'm maybe not going about this the correct way, so please let me know if there is a more efficient way to do this.

We currently have a team-managed project that I'd like to move over to a company managed project.  I have set up the new project and would like to clone all the issues into the new project.  However, I need to keep the Issue keys the same (the letters can be different, but the numbers need to be the same).  In my research, I have not seen a solution to this, so maybe it's not possible?

Or should I be going about this differently?

Thank you!

Theresa

Hi Matt

It is not possible to split Original Estimate and Remaining estimate on an issue. If you created worklog attribute as suggested earlier you can generate an issue report in Tempo Timesheets and pivot according to the attributes (dev, test, design etc)

Original Estimate and Remaining estimate is always an an Issue level.

Hi,

You could probably also use Tempo's "worklog attributes" for each "worklog type". See here for details: https://tempoplugin.jira.com/wiki/display/TEMPO/Configuring+Worklog+Attributes

Hi Bjarni,

I have now downloaded the tempo timesheet plugin but I cant see how you would add, the following on each jira issue

"Original Estimate for Dev"
"Original Estimate for testing"
"remaining estimate for Dev"
"Remaining extimate for testing"
"Logged time for Dev"
"Logged time for testing" .

Is something like this possible?

Hi Matt,

Why not create sub-tasks for each?

Cheers!

I cant add the dev and test as sub-tasks as they are tasks that moves through the workflow which gets passed to the dev and testing teams, so its just one task

Hi Matt,

This is possible with Minyaa plugin for JIRA, please see http://www.minyaa.com/documentation/latest/Features/ModuleTime/WorklogDetails/WorklogTypes.html

Thank you.
