I'm considering moving over our Editorial Team from our current software project boards to business project boards.
I like the Calendar View, as well as the Timeline and ability for other departments to fill in a form with the Issues (i.e. articles) they're requesting.
However, someone else in the company tested a new business project board, and I am unable to either create new tickets in anything except the To Do Column or make columns other than the ones there now (To Do, Draft, In Review, Approved), which will be a problem for myself or any member of our Team who wants to do this.
Are there any permissions that need to be granted or work-arounds to include these capabilities? Or is it simply a matter of sticking with our current software project boards (which doesn't include some of the abilities of the business project board).
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Please note - I am new to Jira. Also, I couldn't find an answer to this exact question in my search of the support pages.
Thanks.
Maybe you have the Resolution field on the create screen? If this is the case the resolution will be set which is the point in time where the resolved date is set.
Indeed we have. I even added a solution called "ToDo" as default because after the first edit the solution was set to "completed" per default. I guess we need to work with more than one kind of screen.
I'll try that and report back (probably on monday).

Yes, you should remove the resolution from the create screen and only use it on the transition screen for the resolve transition.
