What is the definition of these system events? This has to do with time tracking on the issue (i.e. when someone log work the first time SWOI is triggered and when remaining effort = 0 WSOI is triggered)? Thank you.

Is it possible to select multiple or all Jira issues of a status(board) and change it to another status?

Nope. They are events thrown on the post function of 'Start Progress' and 'Stop Progress' workflow actions.
