The 'Done' or resolved issues still remain. This happened following the addition of a new issue type. These all appear in lists and filters, however, the board is wiped clean. I had tried to create a new workflow to solve the problem, but it doesn't work.

No, the layout of the field options is hard coded.
If you want to hack it, you can change the .vm that renders the field, but it's rather fiddly, affects all fields of the affected type (unless you hard code long-winded "if" statements) and a pain to maintain on upgrade.
