Jira Core already does "project management", that's what the tool is for (to quote Atlassian, "Jira Core is a simplified project management tool for customers looking to extend the power of Jira to their organization.")
However, I do emphasise the "simplified" in there. It really does do the basics. The problem with answering your question is that "project management" is undefined, and actually, very ill defined in general.
So I think before anyone can recommend any tools, we need to know what you want from "project management" - what do you want the software to actually do for your project managers (and with all the other people the projects are there for)
@Nic Brough -Adaptavist- Please find below some basic requirement we need from Project Management tool .
1) % completion of program/epic
2) Due date should come automatically based on start date
3) Critical path
4) Timelines based on priority
5) Heads up of different team for upcoming task based on Project progress
6) Able to see project progress through Gantt chart and reports .

1, 2 and 5 can be done in Jira, although you may want to do a little automation if the off-the-shelf stuff isn't right for you.
You could probably automate 3 as well, after leaning on the linking/dependency functions, but I would be strongly tempted to look at the answers for 4 and 6 as they'll probably make it easier.
4 and 6 - I'd look at the scale tools, the ones that do portfolio (not project) management by layering functions over the top of Jira projects - Advanced Roadmaps, Big Picture, Easy Agile and so-on

Hi @sanjay_sapra, it's Tania from the Planyway team and I believe that Panyway could be a helpful project management tool in your case, especially if you combine it with Jira's automation. Planyway is simple and user-friendly, you can visualize epics, multiple projects (portfolio), and your team's workload on one timeline. Feel free to reach out if any questions.
Cordially,
Tania

In addition, please find a list of our short video tutorials.
Regardless of the options I mentioned above, you can simply ask a question in this thread. I will gladly guide you through step-by-step instructions.

Hi @sanjay_sapra
I'm Jasmin from the Easy Agile team. Easy Agile Programs may support some of the requirements you're looking for in a tool.
Easy Agile Programs supports teams to visualise and break down work for a Program and Program Increment right inside Jira. The tool allows you to view your features/epics and stories with varying degrees of detail, keeping it high level for conversations with stakeholders or to see all the issues teams have scheduled in sprints.
Additionally you are able to add milestones to indicate key deliverables alongside the work that is planned.
The work of the team is represented in team swimlanes on a Program Board, with a shared team features swimlane along the top. A key feature of the tool is to be able to see any dependencies between work and filter based on whether they are healthy, at risk, or blocked.
Teams can plan and break down their work on their team planning board, with estimation possible right on the issue card. Team capacity is visible and easy to see for each and every sprint to understand if the team is at risk of overcommitting.
We do not offer Gantt chart reporting, however we do have an integration with EazyBI to support reporting functions.
Our tool supports PI Planning as part of the SAFe Framework, and I agree with @Nic Brough -Adaptavist- - it will really depend on what you need and mean from 'project management'.
I would invite you to have a look at the demo for the product to see if it's suitable, but also as we're in the process of updating this video to check out the latest features we've released on our Feature Log.
I hope this helps but please do reach out with any further questions should they come up and myself and the team will be more than happy to help.
Jasmin
