My boss would like our view to change from Board to list. If we switch to list will this change it to a company managed project or remain the same team manager project ?

I am bit confused by your question, as both the Board and List are available for JWM projects.
What type of project is it currently?
We added in list view - we are trying to have the columns as the status
(in progress done ect.) is that possible to do in the list view? This is a team managed project

You should be able to see the status in the list field. But, you cannot have different columns for each status if that is what you are asking.
