Do the two tools work together to allow sync of data.
I would like to work in Work-Management, but others prefer Software..
You don't need to sync anything, they're the same application.
Jira Work Management is actually the baseline functionality of Jira, it provides issues, projects, workflow, users, and so-on. I tend to think of those as "Core" functions, and JWM provides a load of project types on top of them. Jira Software adds a load of functions to Core (mostly Scrum and Kanban boards, but also Software projects)
So there's no need for a sync, Jira Software is running on top of Core.
