If all of the projects (software and Marketing) exist in https://jira.wingify.com then yes, that is the simplest and cheapest solution. One instance using both Jira Software and Jira Work management projects....this way they can even share fields, screens, issue types and global or multi project automation rules.
Separating them out will only complicate that sharing.
Hi @Jan Marks
Jira Work Management works perfectly with Jira Software. As the matter of fact, the Jira Software license includes the right to work on Work Management projects. Users on both licenses can collaborate with each other smoothly. Jira Work Management shares a lot of functionalities with Jira Software like Workflows, custom fields, working on issues, and so on. Jira Work Management is designed for marketing, HR, finance, and other business teams to collaborate, while Jira Software is focused more on Software Development and Agile project management.
You can read more about Jira Work Management and other flavors here: https://www.atlassian.com/jira.

Piotr

Hi Piotr, thanks for your help! Let me add a related question: can teams which are using Jira on different servers share projects and tasks?

Hi @Jan Marks - Jira Work Management is a cloud-only solution. Do you mean teams on different cloud instances?

Yea - our company Wingify is using https://jira.wingify.com. Originally we used it in our software development only, however, now Marketing is also using it. Jira Work Management is a cloud-only solution and if Marketing and sales would use Jira Work Management in the cloud, could we still share projects with our colleagues who are using https://jira.wingify.com
?

@Jan Marks I'd love to learn more about how your SW teams are looking to collaborate with the Marketing teams. Would you be open to chatting? I'm rlevy@atlassian.com thx

Hi @Jan Marks
In order to "connect" any 2 Jira instances/ projects, you can use an integration tool in the middle to take care of sync between the two. I am a pre-sales engineer @ Exalate and would happily recommend our tool to achieve the integration you are looking for.
Please feel free to review Exalate to see how we can help or simply book a demo with us to see the tool in action.
Thanks
Syed

@Jan Marks , as already mentioned, both systems work easily with each other and help the team using them (marketing/hr, you name it) achieve their goals. Did you use any tools to integrate them? If not, are you open to using such? Tools like ZigiOps (a no-code integration platform) can seamlessly connect the two Jira instances, bi-directionally and sync/transfer various data. Feel free to check it out and even go for a demo, to see it in action.
Regards, Diana (ZigiWave team)
