I am trying to figure out how to create labels that will apply to only my project, given that there are ~150 other projects in my company and I don't want to clutter the labels for all the other people out there.
I have a company managed project, in case this means I specifically can not accomplish this on my own. I have Project Lead access on this project.
My available issue types are Epic, Bug, Story, Task.
I have made a custom field that was a label type, but have not found a way to apply it to my issues. I'm not sure if I do manage to apply it to my issues, if that won't also affect all other projects since I expect Epic, Bug, Story, and Task are issue types for all projects.
Do I need to also make a custom issue type / have someone in corporate do it for me? Is there some other way I can create labels that apply to only my project without cluttering others' projects?
Thanks!
I've tried components, but failed. I was able to create them, but the Zephyr plugin only allows 1 component to be linked to a test (and my need for labels, or a substitute for them, is to sort/filter/organize tests).
Any chance that any of y'all have found a way to make Zephyr allow linking to n components instead of just 1 component?
This is a really helpful topic thank you. Something I need to sort for our >80 projects. I am just learning about the screen config so that is also an action on me.

To create labels that apply only to your project without affecting others, consider using components or custom fields rather than global labels. Components are project-specific and can help organize work within your project.
Since you're using a company-managed project, you can:
No need for a custom issue type unless you have very specific needs.

By default if you will ad label it will be visible for all projects. To have something more unique to your project the best will be to use components or create custom field/use existing one with context set to your project.
