New to Jira Work Management. Used the Content Management template for my project. Added a Status to my Issue type's workflow. My company prefers List views to Boards; I want to show my List view grouped by Status, in the order in which they appear in the workflow.
I see no way to do this. I even renamed all status levels with a leading numerical value to try to sort the list by this, but it doens't work. (see image; ). I assume sorting is for the issues only, not the groupings.
Cannot find anything in documentation or online about this; can someone help, please?
I hope the following image is more self-explaining. I also have the same problem. I created a new project as Product Management. The Boards tab is working perfectly fine, as I can move the columns as I whish, but on List view I can't reorder the states as I would like.
Hi Rex - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
Is this a Team-managed or Company-managed project?

There is a lot less flexibility with Team-managed projects. It appears to be some type of default where the To Do statuses are listed first (gray ones) the In Progress and then Done (green). If you have multiple of the same category (i.e. In Progress) not sure how it is determining which should be first. It might be which one was created first in your workflow.

Hey there @Rex Hurd ,
We currently have a bug opened that seems similar to your question here.
Please check the bug details here:
JRACLOUD-81183
And maybe you can use the workaround provided.
Hope this helps!
Thank you.

Hi @Rex Hurd
I acknowledge that this problem alone may not justify additional tooling, but just to put it out there: This would work as expected in the app that my team and I are working on, JXL for Jira.
JXL is a full-fledged spreadsheet/table view for your issues that allows viewing, inline-editing, sorting, and filtering by all your issue fields, much like you’d do in e.g. Excel or Google Sheets. In a sense, it has a few things in common with JWM's list view, however it comes with a range of advanced features, and also works in (and across!) projects on any type, not just JWM projects. Plus, it sorts statuses first by status category (i.e., "gray" before "blue" before "green"), and second using a smart combination of alphabetical and numeric sorting, meaning that your statuses would be sorted as expected:
As you can see above, you can also group your issues by status (as well as any other issue field(s)) in just one click, and also use the status across JXL's other advanced features, such as support for (configurable) issue hierarchies, sum-ups, or conditional formatting.
Any questions just let me know,
Best,
Hannes

Hi @Rex Hurd
If I understand you want to show the list grouped by status right?
You can try filtering within the list and selecting "status"

Anthony

Hi Anthony,
That doesn't change the grouping order. I want the list grouped by status so it can be collapsed, but have the groups sorted by the correct status order.
